Q.1 Why tide rise on the sea?

Answer: The tide rise on the sea due to the gravitational force of the sun and the moon on the sea of the earth.

Q.2) The effect of gravitation in liquid is more than in solid. Why?

Answer: In liquid, the intermolecular force is less than that in solid. Therefore, the effect of gravitation in liquid is more than in solid.

Q.3) Kathmandu lies at higher altitude than Biratnagar from the sea level. Where does an object has more weight between two places? Write with suitable reasons.

Answer: Since Kathmandu lies at higher altitude than Biratnagar from the sea level, the value of acceleration due to gravity (g) is slightly more in Biratnagar than that in Kathmandu. Therefore, an object has slightly more weight in Biratnagar than that in Kathmandu.

            g ∝ 1/ R²

        and,   w ∝ g

Q.4) The value of universal gravitational constant is 6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ Nm²/Kg². What does it mean?

Answer: The value of universal gravitational constant is 6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ Nm²/Kg². It mean that the force of 6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ N acts between the two bodies of 1 kg mass kept 1 m apart from their centers.

Q.5) When a man travels from hilly region to Terai region, what will happen to his weight? Explain with reason.

Answer: When a man travels from hilly region to Terai region, his weight increases gradually. This happens because, the value of acceleration due to gravity (g) increases while travelling from hilly region to Terai region. As, a result the weight of the person increases gradually.

                    g ∝ 1/ R²

                    and,   w ∝ g
